Mission:
The Milan Conservatory trains instrumentalists, singers and composers to the highest didactic standards and is now also a prolific production centre, with its own specific role in the city and national music scene.
From ancient music to contemporary languages, from classical to pop-rock, the students and teachers of the Milan Conservatory are the protagonists of more than 200 events each year.
Students of composition (classical, jazz and pop-rock) are the only ones in Italy to have the opportunity to hear their pieces performed by orchestras and ensembles. Performed by professional ensembles are the works written for the various examinations, by the Orchestra Sinfonica laVerdi of Milan the pieces for large orchestra composed for the 2nd level academic diploma in classical composition, by bands and ensembles the diploma pieces of jazz and pop-rock composers.
Verdi is also available to conducting students for part of their lessons, while students on the choir conducting course work with a professional choir for a number of rehearsals.
Quality policy:
The objective of the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music in Milan (Conservatory for short) is to ensure that the three-year first-level and two-year second-level Diploma Courses, as well as the teaching support services, music production activities and library services, are able to meet the needs and expectations of students
The Directorate therefore aims to offer students an artistic training pathway that will guarantee them a professional future consistent with their academic career, capable of meeting the needs of the labour market in their sector
The implementation of this policy takes the form of the creation of a learning environment marked by continuous improvement and is shared by all the Conservatoire's staff: the teachers and the administrative structures more or less directly involved in the teaching process. The Institution's Quality Management System is, in fact, an integrated system that includes all the structures that deliver and support the teaching process.
The adoption of such modes of operation, translated into organisational behaviours based on measurable processes, allows the Conservatoire to interpret, in a timely and innovative manner, the emerging European and global interest in quality assurance in academic education.
Quality“ is not the expression of a static conception, but a dynamic one that is open to a continuous critical review of the organisational and design methods of education in place and is embodied in a responsible mindset that is open to change and in an approach that is strongly oriented towards defining strategies to achieve continuous improvement in performance and the full satisfaction of students and all stakeholders.
The Conservatoire is aware that the Quality of its Courses has a decisive influence on its image, therefore it believes in establishing and following a strategy in the field of Quality capable of guaranteeing its students services whose quality is that promised to them and expected by them, in compliance with laws, regulations and internal specifications. In particular, the Conservatoire is committed to consolidating and increasing the services offered to students both in terms of course quality and opportunities for professional success. And to achieve this goal it intends to increase the level of student involvement and collaboration in projects and initiatives of local institutions
It is the Conservatoire's objective to make the level of quality designed, the level of quality actually delivered and the level of quality perceived by the student as homogeneous as possible.
For the achievement of the objectives set, the Conservatoire considers the involvement of all functions and collaborators indispensable. The implementation of the programme will be constantly supported and encouraged by the top management of the institution.
Improvement objectives are periodically reviewed and updated with corrective actions dictated by experience. In particular, the organisation sets annual Quality objectives, the achievement of which is monitored during periodic management reviews. Adequate importance will be given to the design of preventive actions, which, as such, will make it possible to avoid the occurrence of non-conformities and/or complaints, which would fatally diminish student satisfaction or reduce their perception of the Quality provided by the Conservatoire.
The organisation is confident that it can count on the personal participation of all its employees to implement the quality policy, which is communicated to all levels of the organisation by the Director.
