WARM Workshop on Artistic Research in Music
A pre-PhD training programme organised by the Florence Conservatoire and the Milan Conservatoire, in collaboration with the Orpheus Instituut in Ghent (Belgium), which offers conservatoire students and teachers, as well as young musicians, the opportunity to develop their own artistic research project. The programme includes supervision by a researcher from the Orpheus Instituut, guidance from two tutor-teachers from the conservatoires, and the support of a project group.
This initiative, the first of its kind in Italy, aims to provide students with skills and tools for methodologically organised independent reflection on their artistic practice. It forms part of the preparation and training activities for doctoral research in music within the Third University Cycle (pending implementation in Italy), also equipping participating students with the necessary competencies to evaluate the possibility of an effective application to academies, conservatoires, universities, or international research institutions.
