Forest of Music

The Bosco della Musica represents one of the most significant and innovative cultural, educational and urban initiatives realised in recent years in the context of Milan and Lombardy.

Promoted with the fundamental support of Lombardy Region, this project with an international scope marks a strategic contribution to the urban regeneration of the Rogoredo district and to the strengthening of the educational and cultural offer in Italy.

Located in the area in front of the Conservatory's new teaching centre, the Forest of Music is conceived as a campus open to the city of Milan, pioneering of its kind at national level, integrating nature, culture, education and innovation. On an area of over 13,000 square metres of public green space, The project combines digital classrooms and laboratories, state-of-the-art recording rooms, a 400-seat auditorium, an arena for summer events and a residence for students, teachers and artists, offering new opportunities for musical study, practice, research and artistic creation.

The Bosco della Musica was born from the ambition to transform an urban area hitherto characterised by decay into a vibrant place of social and cultural cohesion, usable not only by the Conservatoire's students - who have an international and growing community - but also by Italian and foreign citizens and cultural institutions.

The vision of the project is based on environmental sustainability and architectural innovationThe pavilions and infrastructures are set in a large public park with pedestrian and cycle paths, outdoor performance areas and community spaces, where music is intimately connected with nature and urban life.

The financial support of the Lombardy Region is an example of a strong and far-sighted public-cultural partnership. This commitment made it possible to start work, consolidating the position of the Forest of Music as a symbol of sustainable urban regeneration, social inclusion and educational excellence in the field of arts and creativity.

For the Milan Conservatory is not just a large physical space: it represents a unique opportunity to consolidate an international platform that promotes training, cultural interaction, research and artistic exchange between students, musicians and local communities, helping to shape Milan and Lombardy as dynamic poles of contemporary musical culture.
