M2C Institute of Modern and Contemporary Music

«M2C». It is not a physics formula. It is the name of a new institute dedicated to the music of our time. An institution within the Conservatory that is the brainchild of director Cristina Frosini. One of its objectives is to conceive, promote and realise artistic-musical projects relating to 20th-century and contemporary repertoires. Two festivals are planned, in spring and autumn. The birth of this institute is a sign of a changing Conservatory. M2c will offer different programmes united by the need to build bridges between pages considered historical and pages of recent writing. The institute is also an important stage for the students, who are invited to exchange views with leading exponents. Being at the centre of a network of high-level collaborations means for the «Verdi» to see the quality of the work carried out by teachers and students, the latter increasingly immersed in a professional dimension of music-making already during their formative years, recognised once again.
