A link between the world of studies and that of work, a unique model in the Italian landscape, the Orchestra Sinfonica del Conservatorio di Milano boasts among its ranks students – young people between 15 and 22 years old – who, selected by audition, have chosen music as a profession.
In its early years, it was directed by Fabio Luisi, Yoichi Sugiyama, Alessandro Cadario, Pedro Amaral, Marco Guidarini, Roberto Abbado, Antonello Allemandi, Michele Mariotti, Alessandro Bombonati, Vitali Alekseenok, and Pietro Mianiti, who is its principal and resident conductor.
Warmly acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, the many productions realised at the Conservatory, as well as those in collaboration with the Milano Musica Festival, for the 8th October commemorations alongside SEA and the Municipality of Milan, for the Day of Civil Virtue.
On tour in Varese for the Municipal Musical Season, the Orchestra was the protagonist of concerts that saw them working alongside the Trio di Parma, Emanuel Pahud, Fabrizio Meloni, and Alexander Malofeev.
Of the three summer residences the orchestra has participated in, at Saliceto in 2021 and at Lucca in 2023 and 2024, it was the protagonist in concerts for the Virtuoso e Bel Canto Festival.
The Orchestra has several video-discographic productions to its credit, available on the Conservatorio di Milano's Vimeo channel, which can be accessed here LINK.

Acknowledgements and Awards
The students selected and admitted to being part of the Orchestra will be entitled to recognition of academic credits, which will be counted towards the respective study plans within the “student's elective activities”.
Those who participate in OSCOM activities will also receive, thanks to the support of CheBanca!, a “production premium”of €500 net, awarded based on participation in productions; participation will be agreed with the Production Office, so as to cover the staffing needs of all planned concerts, with the aim, however, of not requiring every orchestra member to attend all events in the season.
