The VJO-Verdi Jazz Orchestra presents itself as a true Big Band. Engaged in concerts in the Verdi Hall of the Conservatory, also with the participation of world-renowned artists such as Paolo Fresu, Sheila Jordan, John Surman, Jo Locke, and more recently Marshall Gilkes, Luca Missiti, and Giulio Visibelli, the VJO has been invited many times to prestigious theatres, concert halls, and for national festivals and events.

Call for auditions for instrumentalists and singers for the Verdi Jazz Orchestra of the Conservatory of Milan
Selections are being held for the establishment of the staffing for the Verdi Jazz Orchestra of “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Music in Milan for the 2026/2027 academic year. All students regularly enrolled at the Milan Conservatoire for the 2026/2027 academic year in any course of study may participate in this call for applications.
The auditions will take place in Sala Verdi on the days of 24 and 25 September 2026 From 09:00.

A registration form must be completed for each candidate. If the candidate intends to apply for more than one instrument, they must submit a separate application for each of them.

The Verdi Jazz Orchestra's first concert of the 2024-2025 season will be held in Sala Verdi on 21 November 2024, to mark Civil Virtue Day.
