Call for Instrumentalists – Selection for performance during ECME Week Salamanca 2026
This call is aimed at all flautists, trombonists, and violinists who are regularly enrolled for the academic year 2025 – 2026 and wish to participate in the selection for students to take part in the European Contemporary Music Ensemble (ECME) project, an ensemble composed of students from the Conservatorio di Milano, the Mozarteum of Salzburg, the “Liszt” Academy of Budapest, the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León, and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
ECME Week 2026 will take place in Salamanca (Spain) from 9 to 15 March 2026. The dates may be subject to slight changes, but activities will take place over seven days, including international travel. The final concert is scheduled for Saturday 15 March 2026.
The event, organised by the Higher Conservatory of Music of Castilla y León in collaboration with the University of Salamanca, is funded by the Erasmus BIP programme and includes workshops, laboratories, masterclasses and concerts.
The selected students will participate in all planned educational and artistic activities, as full members of the ECME ensemble. It is also possible that they will be invited to participate in the premiere performance of a new work, in collaboration with a student of composition or electronic music from the participating institutions.
In total, a maximum of 4 instrumentalists will be selected, divided as follows:
- No. 1 Trombonist
- Max. 2 Violinists
- Max. 2 flutists
The audition will be held on 25th November 2025, at 10.00 AM in Room 105 and the programme will consist of some extracts taken from the scores indicated below. Links to the parts are provided for the orchestral or ensemble pieces; the standard repertoire pieces are not provided.

In addition to the excerpts indicated, the Commission may ask candidates to perform a piece of contemporary music of their choice, for which the candidate must present three copies, one for each member of the Commission.
