Young Talent Courses

What are

The Conservatory of Milan organises training activities for “Young Talents”, meaning pupils who possess particular and exceptional artistic and musical aptitudes and abilities, but still not In possession of a high school diploma (minimum requirement for enrolment in First Level Academic Diploma courses, ex Article 7 of Presidential Decree 212/2005) and enrolled in a school year prior to the third year of upper secondary school.  

The “Young Talents” courses include a weekly instrument lesson (60 minutes, for 27 lessons annually, from November to October) and any further training activities, assigned taking into account the pupil's specific characteristics, their level of preparation, and their concurrent attendance at another school.

The entrance exam requires the same programme of practical test of the admission exams for the First Level Academic Diploma courses (practical test only, theoretical test excluded).

Upon completion of the course, a certificate from the Conservatory of Milan will be issued, attesting to the training activities carried out by the student and any credits acquired, which may be recognised at the time of enrolment on the Level I Academic course.

A student who, having completed the training course dedicated to “Young Talents,” decides to enrol in the first-level Academic course at the Conservatory of Milan, will still be able to attend 3 years of their principal instrument, even if they have already obtained the relevant credits during their previous training.
