What are Free Courses
The Conservatory of Milan, in order to promote extensive and lifelong learning, is promoting the introduction of 'Free Courses', which are individual lessons in instrumental/vocal/compositional training activities open to everyone. The Free Courses, taught by Conservatory faculty who make themselves available, represent a non-curricular educational offering, do not confer academic credits, and, upon admission, do not require specific educational qualifications nor have age limits.
Free courses can also be attended by those who are simultaneously enrolled in a diploma course at any conservatory or AFAM institution.
Boarding students at the Conservatorio di Milano, with the exception of those on Pre-preparatory courses, may only enrol in Free Courses for educational activities not included in their study plan.
Non-EU students intending to enrol on a free-choice course must already possess a valid visa for their stay in Italy, or a valid residence permit.
At the end of the lessons, upon student's request, a certificate of attendance can be issued.
To be admitted to an elective course, you must fill in the form at the following link.
Any previous musical studies must be indicated in the form.
Requests are subject to acceptance by the Director, also taking into consideration the availability of places.
It is possible to purchase packages of 5, 10, or 20 lessons, agreeing on dates and times with the tutor. Lessons for students under 12 years of age will last 45 minutes; those for students over this age will last 60 minutes.
Lessons must be completed within a single academic year (2 November – 31 October).
Lessons not taken due to student absence will not be made up, unless otherwise agreed in advance with the teacher.
