La music therapy, a discipline whose scientific basis is now solid and is the result of rigorous clinical and neuroscientific studies, which have produced significant evidence of efficacy, works with music to produce therapeutic-rehabilitative effects in the preventive sphere, but also and above all in various clinical and rehabilitative areas.
The two-year degree course in Theories and Techniques in Music Therapy is an important institutional milestone: it is an educational pathway in which areas of study relating to music therapy, music, psychology and medicine converge. The course is realised in collaboration with the University of Pavia (for the psychological and medical fields), which boasts a long tradition of training in music therapy, as it is the only university that offers a Level I Master's degree in Music Therapy promoted by the Department of Public Health, Experimental and Forensic Medicine.
The Second Level Academic Diploma in Theories and Techniques in Music Therapy, which also provides for internships in various clinical and research settings in agreement with health facilities, defines the profile of the music therapist as a professional able to work in health, social-health, rehabilitation, educational and preventive contexts, within multidisciplinary teams.
