EXTENSION OF CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR 200 HOURS COLLABORATION FOR SPECIAL TEACHING – DSA TUTOR – ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026

Please be informed that the selection process for the establishment of merit-based rankings for the award of “200-hour” collaboration scholarships (pursuant to Article 11 of Legislative Decree 29 March 2012, no. 68), to be carried out at certain offices of the Conservatorio di Milano, has been extended for students of the Conservatorio.

The collaborations will specifically concern support activities in the following sector, with the detailed description provided in the annex at the end of the tender:

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT – DSA TUTOR

Collaborations will only be activated if absolutely necessary.. Inclusion in the ranking list will not create any obligation on the part of the Conservatory.

The collaborations covered by this call:

  • must be completed by 31 October 2026 and will have a maximum duration of 200 hours;
  • will stop automatically if the student in charge should graduate before the 200 hours are reached;
  • will be articulated in such a way as to ensure full compatibility of the services required with the teaching duties and study commitments of the selected students; it is understood that teaching obligations will have absolute priority and precedence in the activities of the selected student;
  • will normally take place on the Conservatoire's premises and will be preceded by a preparatory meeting;
  • will in no way constitute an employment relationship and will not give rise to any evaluation for the purposes of public competitions.

Any selected students will be required to carry out the requested collaborations diligently, following the instructions of the Conservatory's representative and in compliance with the assignment decree, as well as with the general operating rules of the Conservatory.

Below are the rules governing the selection that is the subject of this notice

General admission requirements

These are admission requirements for students:

  • regular enrolment by the date of application submission, relating to the academic year indicated in the call for applications;
  • Being of legal age;
  • possession of the specific requirements for each sector, as set out in the annexes to this notice.

Situations of incompatibility are considered to be:

  • out-of-school students;
  • students who have submitted a false declaration in previous years and have therefore been excluded from receiving benefits for the entire course of studies;
  • students who have obtained a negative service evaluation in previous years for the same profile;

2. SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The specific requirements are indicated within the annex accessible at the bottom of the notice.

3. SELECTION COMMITTEE AND RANKING LIST

The selection will be entrusted to a judging panel, appointed by the Director.

The Commission will meet for the interview and for the evaluation of the documentation received and, at the end, will draw up the ranking.

In particular, the Commission will award up to a maximum of 100 points for the evaluation of each candidate, broken down as follows:

  • Interview – up to 60 pointsThe interview will cover previous work experience, the course of study undertaken at the Milan Conservatory, and any previous training, as well as the specific content required for each type of collaboration, in order to assess the candidate's skills and their suitability for the profiles sought in each sector.
  • Evaluation of teaching merit – up to 40 pointsDepending on the weighted average the following scores will be awarded:

Attention: your weighted average can be found by accessing your respective SIA profile and must be faithfully reported in your application (see below). Any discrepancies will result in The inadmissibility of the candidacy.

Candidates who obtain a score equal to or greater than 60/100 will be included in the rankings. In the event of equal overall scores, preference will be given to the candidate with the lower ISEE; in the event of further equality, the younger student will take precedence.

At the conclusion of the procedure, the ranking will be published in the tenders section, on the Conservatory's website..

4. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO THE SELECTION PROCESS

The application for admission to the selection must be submitted by filling in by 11.59 p.m. (final deadline) on 6 January 2026 via the following form:

In-person interviews will be held on 9 January 2026 at 9:00 AM at the DSA Office.

5.    RESERVATIONS

The Conservatory reserves the right not to publish one or more lists in the following cases:

a) No applications met the required criteria;

b)  to waive the need to activate the collaborations subject to the call for proposals.

The publication of the rankings does not automatically oblige the Conservatory to commence the collaborations covered by this call. The number of collaborations will be determined by the Conservatory based on the actual needs of its various departments.

6.    PERFORMANCE OF THE COLLABORATION AND REMUNERATION

Collaborations will be initiated upon the signing of acceptance of the collaboration role by interested students. The actual service will be preceded by a preparatory meeting where the expected commitments will be detailed. Attendance will be recorded in a register, overseen by the designated collaboration lead. This lead will organise the collaboration and verify the fulfilment of obligations by the students assigned to the collaborations.

The Conservatory will provide accident insurance cover for appointed students.

Upon completion of the collaborations, the referrer shall draft and submit to the Conservatory Directorate an evaluation of the activity carried out by each collaborator, including a report on the effectiveness of the service provided (see art. 13, paragraph 3, letter d of Law 390/91).

The compensation for the collaboration is set at €10.00 per hour and will be exempt from local income tax and personal income tax pursuant to art. 13 L. 390/91.

The payment will be made in a single instalment at the end of the collaboration, subject to a positive evaluation of the work carried out.

7.    WAIVERS, WITHDRAWALS, TERMINATIONS OF MANDATE

Students who, despite having signed their acceptance of the collaboration, do not take up their duties for reasons other than serious illness, pregnancy, military or civil service, international student exchanges, or artistic activities approved by the Director of the Conservatoire, shall forfeit their entitlement to the collaboration.

Students who, after the collaboration has commenced, declare their withdrawal for the same reasons indicated above, giving 15 days' notice, shall retain the right to receive payment solely for the work already carried out. In such cases, the Director shall have the discretion to assign the remaining duties by selecting from the relevant ranking list.

The collaboration agreement may be terminated at any time due to non-compliance, upon notification by the Conservatory representative, duly communicated to the Conservatory Directorate.

SUPPORT FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION – PEER TUTOR FOR THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC YEAR

The category sought, through this call, is as follows: Study support (peer tutoring) for students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and those with a disability or invalidity exceeding 66%% (Law 170/2010 and Law 104/1992).

DESCRIPTION OF THE COLLABORATION

The tasks that will be assigned to the eventually selected students will be as follows:

a) Support for individual study activities in the subjects of Rhythm Theory and Musical Perception, Harmony Theory and Analysis, and Music History;

b) Support for study activities within instrumental and chamber music classes;

Support for exam tutoring activities (registration, undertaking, etc.);

d) Support for study activities for the preparation of scores suitable for the characteristics of the students who request them;

e) Support for the delegate in event organisation activities.

SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All students meeting the following requirements may participate in this selection:

  • A good understanding of the main IT and music editing software relevant to study support, including for visually impaired individuals;
  • knowledge of current legislation on specific learning disorders (Law 170/2010) and disabilities (Law 104/92);
  • knowledge of the organisational structure of the Milan Conservatory.

EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS

The following points will be assessed during the selection process:

  1. possession of the aforementioned requirements;
  2. group test with the design of a concept map on a topic given by the examining board;
  3. curricular and academic assessment;
  4. knowledge of the relevant legislation;
  5. knowledge of the national Guidelines for Conservators (published after approval by the Conference of Directors);
  6. Knowledge of the main IT software related to teaching support activities, also for the visually impaired;
  7. motivational oral interview.

Call for Composers – Selection of pieces to be proposed for performance during ECME (European Contemporary Music Ensemble) Week 2026 – 09-15 March 2026 – Salamanca

The “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory of Music in Milan is announcing a selection open to students of the Composition and Electroacoustic Composition courses enrolled in the 2025-2026 academic year, for the submission of compositional projects to be realised in a short timeframe and already composed works, which will be performed during the’ECME Week Salamanca 2026.

The’ECME (European Contemporary Music Ensemble) It is an inter-institutional project by the Conservatory of Milan, developed within the Erasmus+ BIP programme, in collaboration with:

  • Salzburg Mozarteum
  • Liszt Academy of Budapest
  • Higher Conservatory of Music of Castilla y León (Salamanca)
  • Royal Conservatory of Brussels

ECME is an international platform dedicated to the interpretation of contemporary music, artistic research, experimentation and the use of new technologies, promoting creativity and the development of new expressive perspectives among composers and instrumentalists.

The’ECME Week 2026 will take place in Salamanca (Spain) 9 to 15 March 2026 (dates may be subject to slight variations) and will welcome up to four pieces by students of the Milan Conservatory, selected according to the following categories:

  • 1 piece for viola and electronics or violet alone (maximum duration: 8’30”)
  • 1 piece for oboe and electronics (maximum duration: 5 minutes)
  • 1 acousmatic track (maximum duration: 8’30”)
  • 1 acousmatic track (maximum duration: 5 minutes)

Is it possible to participate by presenting pieces already composed o compositional projects/patterns. The materials submitted must take into account the artistic and technological purposes of the ECME as described in the introduction.

1. PIECES FOR INSTRUMENT AND ELECTRONICS

A) If the piece is already composed

Applicants should submit:

  1. Score (indicate clearly the duration of the piece and year of composition).
  2. Data sheet in English.
  3. Possible electronic part (files required for execution), in duplicate version if relevant:
    1. stereo;
    2. multichannel (possibly).
      The spread will be octophonic, with any internal system variations (stereo, quadraphonic, etc.). The electronic part should preferably be on fixed support (use of Max patches for audio file activation and management of electronic parts is possible). Where provided, live electronics, it must be borne in mind that the number of trials will be limited.
  4. Curriculum vitae (in Italian and English, maximum 2000 characters -spaces included-), including name, surname, date of birth and main discipline.

B) If you compete with a composition project or piece to be completed

Applicants should submit:

  1. Composition project, in PDF format, indicating: first name, surname, main discipline, title of the piece, chosen ensemble (viola or oboe and electronics). The project must be between 3.500 e 9,000 characters (including spaces) and can include images and links to playable/downloadable files ( .maxpat patches, stereo or multitrack audio files, videos etc.).
  2. Start page(s) of the score or instrumental part.
  3. Data sheet (in English).
  4. Drafts of the score and electronic part (stereo and, if foreseen, multi-channel audio files). These materials may be cited in the composition project or listed in a text file (Word, in Italian or English) included in the same folder.
  5. Signed letter in which the candidate undertakes to deliver the final instrumental part by 09 January 2026 The electronic part, if not completed by the instrumental part's delivery date, must be sent together with the score, which includes its notation, by 20 February 2026.
  6. Curriculum vitae (in Italian and English, maximum 2000 characters -spaces included-), including name, surname, date of birth and main discipline.

2. ACOUSMATIC TRACKS

Applicants should submit:

  1. Data sheet (Word or PDF, in English) containing: author, title, duration, year of composition, format specification (stereo or multi-channel). In the case of a multi-channel piece, include the diagram of the speaker arrangement and the correspondence of the speaker channels.
  2. Acousmatic soundtrack:
    • for selection: .wav or .aif stereo format, 16 bit, 44.1 kHz;
    • for performance in Salamanca: 24-bit, 48 kHz format (stereo or multichannel).
  3. Programme note (max 2,500 characters, in Italian and English).
  4. Curriculum vitae (in Italian and English) stating name, surname, date of birth and main discipline.

The Milan Conservatory will award two Erasmus+ grants (short-term mobility) two of the selected students, who will participate in the ECME Week Salamanca 2026 activities (workshops, conferences, masterclasses, seminars, rehearsals, and concerts).

The Commission may select up to four proposals, according to the categories indicated. A meritocracy between a piece for instrument and electronics and a piece for instrument alone, it will be preferred track with electronic part.

The call for applications is published for the comparative procedure aimed at identifying an expert in the theory and teaching of the ’COMA/10 Recorder”planned within the study plans of the academic diploma courses at the Milan Conservatory.
