The Conservatory of Florence and the Conservatory of Milan, in collaboration with the Orpheus Instituut in Gent (Belgium), organise the Workshop on Artistic Research in Music (WARM) 2026: a pre-PhD training course which offers conservatoire students and young musicians the opportunity to developing one's own project of artistic research.

The establishment of four “Alfredo Morelli and Sara Soncini” scholarships, worth €2,500 (two thousand five hundred/00) each, for deserving female students of the Milan Conservatory. The scholarships are intended to support the education of students with excellent academic results and limited financial resources.

Selections for staff expansion are announced of the Milan Conservatory Symphony Orchestra for productions academic year 2025 - 2026.

All students regularly enrolled in Saxophone courses at the Milan Conservatory for the academic year 2025 - 2026 may participate.

The instruments for which auditions are announced are as follows:

  • Saxophones (all instruments in the family)

Candidates enrolled in any three-year course must already have attended (at the time of application) the first of the two compulsory semesters of Orchestral Exercises.

Auditions will be held on the following dates: Friday 13 February 2026, Puccini Hall, 2-8 p.m.

N.B. A detailed convocation schedule will follow once applications have been received.

The audition programme should be composed as follows:

  • Performance of a solo saxophone piece of your choice
  • Performance of orchestral passages according to the programme in the annex available at link

Applications should be submitted via jotform according to the following deadline:

  • registration by Monday 09 February 2026, 12 noon:
  • jotform

Students:

  1. which will successfully pass the selections;
  2. which will participate in at least three of the OSCoM productions scheduled for the academic year 2025 - 2026;
  3. who will be awarded, at the sole discretion of a special commission appointed by the Director of the Conservatory, a positive evaluation of one's artistic growth path (consisting of rehearsals and concerts to which they will be invited);

will be the recipients of a Artistic Award (OSCoM Artistic Award) by euro 900 (nine hundred/00) disbursed in January 2027.

N.B.: Artistic prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the committee partials. These partial prizes will only be awarded to those who can participate in fewer than the three productions indicated in point 2 (see above) only for reasons pertaining to the organisation of the proposed concert programmes in the season, subject, however, to the positive final evaluation by the commission.

Participation in the orchestra's activities earns academic credits according to this criterion:

A call for applications is launched for the selection of four pianists to perform two concerts at the “Benedetto Marcello” Conservatory of Music in Venice on 9 and 10 April 2026.

This call for applications is open to students in the Piano and Maestro collaborator classes who are:

  • duly enrolled for the current academic year 2025/2026;
  • graduating students enrolled in the previous academic year 2024/2025 who will graduate after 10 March 2026, the date of the hearing.

Auditions will take place at the Library Conference Room the day 10 March 2026, starting at 9 a.m.

Protocol No. 147 of 12 January 2026

1) This call is addressed to internal Conservatoire teachers (fixed-term or open-ended contract) and is aimed at the acquisition of research proposals to be carried out in the A.A. 2025/2026.
No more than three projects may be approved for the academic year 2025/2026.

2) Projects must be submitted by filling in the form at link
expiring on the date of 20 February 2026, 11.59 p.m.

3) Professors who have already carried out a project in the previous call (2024/2025) as a proposing party may not submit research projects in this call.

4) Proposals should:
a) develop a research project in the multiple fields of creation, practice, theory, historiography, didactics, pedagogy, music psychology and music therapy;
b) distinguish themselves from other types of activities carried out at the Conservatoire (seminars, masterclasses, workshops, etc.) and be characterised by their multidisciplinary approach and originality with respect to the chosen theme, also envisaging the involvement of several internal subjects (other teachers and students), and of experts from outside the Conservatoire.

5) Proposals should contain:
(a) name of the proposing teacher
(b) title of the research project
(c) project description
d) CV of the proposing teacher

6) Proposals should contain the economic plan of the project. Specifically, the description of the research project should contain the following information:
a) Project summary (max 2500 characters): definition of concepts and objectives;
b) description of the state of the art on the subject; it must be made clear what research on similar issues has already been carried out, nationally and internationally, and how the project contributes to the advancement of knowledge in relation to existing research;
c) method: as comprehensive a description as possible of how the research will be conducted, with what instruments of investigation, on what theoretical assumptions;
d) Dissemination: indicate in which format you think the results of the project could be presented (concerts, public recordings, publications, conferences, seminars, institutional presentations, national or international forums, etc.);
(e) Main bibliographical references;
f) internal teachers involved (attach relevant curricula);
(g) external stakeholders, natural persons and institutions (attach curricula, letters of accession to the project);
(h) plan for implementation of the research project activities: indicate the timetable of the main stages of implementation.

7) Budget. The funding ceiling for each project is set at € 5,000.00. The applicant must indicate the expected overall cost and detail the individual items of expenditure. Funds or sponsorship from external parties for the co-financing of project activities are allowed.

8) The proposals received will be screened by the board of IREMUS (Institute for Music Research), which will evaluate the projects according to the following criteria:
(a) relevance/pertinence of the project;
(b) originality and feasibility of the proposal, also in relation to the budget;
(c) multidisciplinary and novel approach of the project.
If necessary, it may be requested to supplement the proposed documentation, or to make changes to the project in order to enable its actual implementation.

9) A report with IREMUS' assessments will be forwarded to the Academic Council, which is responsible for identifying the projects to be funded.

Call for students: Auditions of the four soloists for Mozart's Requiem with the Youth Orchestra

This call is addressed to all students regularly enrolled in the academic courses of the Milan Conservatory, for the academic year 2025/2026, who wish to take part in the production of Mozart's Requiem that will take place on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, at the Sala Verdi in Milan (the detailed rehearsal schedule will be communicated later).

The selection will take place on Saturday 7 February 2026, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Conservatory's Sala Verdi.
